MINNEAPOLIS, Sep 20, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Net Perceptions (Nasdaq:NETP)
today announced it ranks fourth among Minnesota's fastest growing technology
companies, according to the Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 50 program. The
Fast 50 rankings are based on the percentage of revenue growth from 1997 to
2001.
Net Perceptions is the category leader for providing powerful analytics-driven
solutions to multi-channel retailers, distributors and manufacturers. Its
solutions convert customer, product and transaction data into actionable
intelligence companies can use to generate higher sales, increased revenue and
improved customer loyalty.
Among the highlights for Net Perceptions over the past year has been the June
introduction of its NetP 7.0 product, which enables distributors, manufacturers
and multi-channel retailers to harness the power of predictive analytics to
automatically enhance every customer interaction -- whether on the phone,
face-to-face, on the Web, via e-mail or direct mail -- as it takes place. NetP
7.0 has gained significant momentum in the marketplace, with companies such as
3M, Brylane, J&L Industrial Supply, JC Penney and half.com adopting and
upgrading to the new technology.
"We're delighted to be named the state's fourth fastest growing technology
company," said Don Peterson, president and chief executive officer of Net
Perceptions. "We credit much of that success to the tangible return on
investment we provide for our customers as well as the innovative tools we
consistently bring to the market, such as the more recently introduced NetP
7.0."
To qualify for the Fast 50, companies must have had operating revenues of at
least $50,000 in 1997 and $1 million in 2001; must be public or private
companies headquartered in Minnesota; and must be "technology companies" defined
as companies that own proprietary technology, manufacture a technology product,
or devote a high percentage of effort to the research and development of
technology.
"In an era where technology companies come and go, making the Deloitte & Touche
Technology Fast 50 is a testament to a company's vision that allows growth over
a five-year period. Net Perceptions has proven that its leadership has the right
stuff for growth, and we at Deloitte & Touche salute their accomplishments,"
said Ron Hafner, Deloitte & Touche partner.
