MINNEAPOLIS, Jun 12, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Net Perceptions(R) (Nasdaq:NETP)
today announced the launch of NetP(TM) 7.0, a distinctive new category of
analytics-driven sales effectiveness software that will serve as the company's
core product offering for distributors, manufacturers, catalog retailers and
e-tailers.
"In less than three months from the decision to proceed, we were achieving
profitable results," said Chuck Moyer, vice president of marketing and supply
chain management for J&L Industrial Supply. "To my knowledge, there isn't
another solution of this type available in the industrial space."
NetP 7.0 is delivered in modular form, based on customer needs and priorities.
Intelligence Manager(TM), the core of NetP 7.0, includes analytics that
aggregate and analyze information about customers, products and transactions in
order to generate actionable intelligence. Intelligence Manager(TM) also enables
marketers and merchandisers to apply business rules and filters that work in
conjunction with intelligence generated by analytics. NetP 7.0 Channel
Injectors(TM) automatically deliver the output of Intelligence Manager(TM), such
as product recommendations, target customer lists, and other forms of sales
intelligence, directly into the selling process. Channel Injectors(TM) are
available for call center, inside sales, field sales, web, e-mail and direct
mail.
The ROI that NetP 7.0 delivers is directly measurable, in the form of increased
revenue, enhanced profit, greater loyalty and decreased sales training time.
NetP 7.0 can be implemented rapidly, typically in four to ten weeks, and is
designed to complement customers' existing systems and processes.
Pembroke Consulting, a strategy consulting firm for distributors, manufacturers
and technology companies, recently completed a three-week study of J&L
Industrial Supply's use of NetP 7.0.
"Our research indicated the company is already realizing a hard return on
investment using NetP 7.0's B2B tools. We also found evidence of additional
`soft returns' that were difficult to quantify," said Adam J. Fein, president of
Pembroke Consulting. "Our study showed NetP 7.0 provided tangible and almost
immediate results."
NetP 7.0 will become generally available this month. This new offering
incorporates key components from the company's previous products, including
Personalization Manager(TM) and Distribution Analyst(TM), with its proven Sales
Playbook(TM) application that arms field sales personnel with customer-specific
sales intelligence.
"NetP 7.0 embodies the focus of Net Perceptions - helping our customers
continuously derive actionable intelligence from their data, and then
`injecting' this intelligence directly into their selling process. NetP 7.0
automatically enhances every interaction that our customers have with their
customers - whether face-to-face, over the phone, via the web or through
outbound campaigns," says Don Peterson, Net Perceptions' president and chief
executive officer. "We've proven substantial `hard' ROI and fast implementation,
without the need to `rip and replace' existing systems."
Keith Fletcher, CRM development manager for GUS Home Shopping, the United
Kingdom's largest home shopping retailer, had this to say, "The thing about Net
Perceptions is, if you temporarily turn the software off for maintenance in the
call center, I have had sales advisors cry when they can't use it. They want to
make the sales."
