MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 17, 2000--As the deadline for the $500,000 Personalization Challenge quickly approaches, Net Perceptions, Inc. (Nasdaq:NETP) and Wheelhouse Corp. revealed today that applications have been received from an impressive variety of businesses and industries. Submitting applications to the challenge have been Fortune 100 companies, upscale retailers, business-to-business enterprises, pre-launch startups and not-for-profit organizations.
"The depth and quality of the responses to the challenge is fantastic testimony to the booming demand for personalization technology and precision marketing tools," said Steve Larsen, senior vice president of Net Perceptions. "Based on what we've seen in these entries, the finalists' presentations should be a fascinating showcase of how personalization technology is reshaping customer relationship management strategies for today's smartest companies."
Those businesses with an idea and plan for an innovative application of personalization have until midnight May 17 to submit a proposal to win up to $500,000 in personalization software and services. Entry forms and all rules related to the Personalization Challenge can be found on the Net Perceptions Web site (www.netperceptions.com) and entries can be submitted via fax, email or the Web.
Finalists will then be selected to present their proposals at the ICONOCAST Web Attack! Conference in New York City on June 8-9 with the winner announced before the close of the conference. An immediate implementation process will be undertaken to take the proposed application live and demonstrable prior to the November 2000 Personalization Summit in San Francisco, when the winner and implementation partners will present results.
