Strategic Public Relations and Communications Agency to Provide Counsel To

Leader in Real-Time Personalization Technology

LAKE OSWEGO, Ore., Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Waggener Edstrom Inc. today announced that it has formed a strategic relationship with Net Perceptions Inc. (Nasdaq: NETP), the leading supplier of one-to-one real-time personalization solutions. The two companies will collaborate in the development of Net Perceptions' communications efforts, public relations strategy and marketing communication programs.

Net Perceptions solutions use collaborative filtering technology to develop customized content recommendations that enable Internet retailers to market in real-time to customers on a literal one-to-one basis. This is accomplished by analyzing end user preferences, determined using click-through and purchasing histories, and by requesting that users rank relevant content. These evaluations are then sent to a "recommendation engine," or Net Perceptions server, which collects the rankings and compares them with other users who share similar interests. Internet retailers use the results to tailor content for repeat visitors to their Web sites. Net Perceptions offers solutions for e-commerce, call centers, ad targeting, knowledge management and marketing campaigns.

The Minneapolis-based company's customers include Art.com, Bertelsmann, Billboard TalentNet, CDNOW, E!Online, Micron, SkyMall, Tower Records and Ticketmaster Online.
